The action is watchable, yeah maybe it gets repetitive the further the film goes on, but it's not the worse action out there. As we all know that in today's market, it's all about having big CGI battles, and pretty much CGI everything, so for this to look better than most highly praised blockbusters of our recent time, that's is an big positive in my eyes. When you are watching a Roland Emmerich film, you know it's going to be visually appealing, and that is on show with 'ID:R', the effects are really good, and personally for me, it's some of the best from the 2010's. Haha got nothing to say about him in the film. We also get Liam Hemsworth, yeah nothing to say about him 🤷. At least Bill Pullman and Jeff Goldbulm are still the best. At least try to be similar to him in some ways, omg. Some people have no personality at all, some are wooden especially the actor who plays Will Smith's son. The actual dialogue falls flat, the humour is not really there. It's follows the first film's story beats, but makes it more stupid. First the story itself makes little sense, it's just nonsensical bullshit.

For an modern day blockbuster, it isn't that much of an shock. The script is awful, I'm not going to lie, it is horrible. But it is a film by Emmerich so you kinda know what your gonna get.

Ultimately, this is an film that shouldn't have been made in the first place without Will Smith, so firstly this is missing the charm that he would have brought. Yes this has lots of problems, but I still found it watchable for what it was.įor his brand new film that is coming out, 'Moonfall', I thought I would "try" (see how I actually feel) to check out some of Roland Emmerich's films that I haven't watched. This might be a small conversational opinion, but 'Independence Day: Resurgence' isn't as bad as what the reviews are saying. However, an brand new and larger Alien attack is on the horizon, does the Earth has enough firepower to defend itself, again? + Two decades has past since the first Alien invasion on independence Day, and the world has become an paradise utopia due to the technology that has been left over from the Aliens.
